There’s something incredibly special about a wedding that takes place somewhere deeply personal.
Set along the shores of Lake St. Clair in New Baltimore, Michigan, Brittani and Nick’s wedding unfolded across two meaningful locations, their own home on the water for the ceremony, and the bride’s parents’ estate for the reception. What followed was a day that felt intentional, emotional, and effortlessly refined.
For couples searching for a private estate wedding in Michigan, an intimate waterfront wedding near Detroit, or a tented outdoor wedding with an editorial feel, this celebration is a beautiful example of what’s possible.

A Relaxed Rehearsal Dinner by the Water
The weekend began with a laid-back rehearsal dinner at the couple’s home.
Guests gathered by the water, sharing pizza and wings as the sun set; simple, meaningful, and full of warmth. It created an atmosphere where everyone could settle in, connect, and ease into the celebration ahead.
It felt effortless in the best way, setting the tone for a wedding weekend centered around experience and connection.

Bridal Details with a Timeless, Editorial Feel
The morning began with a quiet focus on the details. From pearl-accented Jimmy Choo heels to heirloom jewelry and soft neutral tones, every element felt cohesive and intentional. The groom gifted his soon to be wife with a beautiful Cartier Love bracelet that completed her bridal look perfectly. Calla lilies added a sculptural elegance, while the invitation suite and personal pieces were styled to reflect a refined, editorial aesthetic.
These details, though small, set the tone for the entire day.

Emotional Moments That Defined the Morning
Before the ceremony, Brittani shared a deeply emotional first look with her father.
In a quiet, meaningful moment, she gifted him a delicate gold pendant engraved simply with “Dad” on the front and a beautiful message on the back. It was understated, yet incredibly powerful, a reflection of their relationship and the significance of the day.
Surrounded by her mother and bridesmaids, the morning moved between laughter and emotion, those in-between moments that make a wedding day feel real and grounded.

A Waterfront Ceremony in New Baltimore, Michigan
The ceremony took place at the couple’s home, set against the calm backdrop of Lake St. Clair.
Rows of white chairs and a grounded floral arch framed the space, allowing the natural setting to lead. The overcast sky and movement of the water created a soft, cinematic atmosphere, one that felt both peaceful and deeply emotional.
It was simple in design, yet powerful in feeling.

Honoring Family Across Generations
Family was woven into every part of the day in deeply intentional ways.
One of the most emotional moments came as Brittani’s grandfather made his way down the aisle, creating a pause that felt both reverent and unforgettable.
In a beautiful reflection of generational connection, Brittani’s other grandfather served as the ring bearer. An unexpected and meaningful role that added depth and story to the ceremony.

A Joyful Champagne Celebration by the Water
Following the ceremony, the energy shifted naturally into celebration.
Along the waterfront, Brittani and Nick popped champagne with their bridal party, creating a moment that felt spontaneous, joyful, and completely reflective of who they are.
It was the perfect balance to the emotion that came before.

Including Their Dog, Maverick
After family portraits, Maverick joined for photos.
His presence brought a relaxed, joyful energy to the moment, reminding everyone that weddings are not just about design, but about the life you’ve built together.
Including him felt effortless, personal, and completely true to them.

An Italian Countryside–Inspired Reception at a Private Estate
At the bride’s parents’ private estate, the reception unfolded in a beautifully designed tented countryside setting, separate from the waterfront ceremony, yet equally intentional in its design and atmosphere.
Under a clear-top tent, long wooden tables were styled with woven chargers, soft florals, grapes, and candlelight, creating a layered, European-inspired aesthetic.
Above, delicate glass orbs suspended from the surrounding trees held softly glowing candles, adding movement and warmth as the evening approached.

Thoughtful Details That Elevated the Experience
The reception design extended beyond aesthetics, it was about experience.
Wine bottles were used as table numbers, blending seamlessly into the overall design. A custom seating installation featured individual candles for each guest, creating a moment that felt both interactive and visually striking.
A hanging mirror display held champagne glasses, catching the light and welcoming guests into the space.
Nearby, a record served as a guest book, allowing friends and family to leave messages in a way that felt nostalgic and lasting. Framed photographs honored loved ones, adding depth and meaning to the celebration.

Personal Touches That Reflected Their Story
A custom bar truck became a central gathering space, serving signature drinks designed to reflect Brittani and Nick. One of the most memorable details was a set of custom koozies featuring Maverick, playful, personal, and instantly loved by guests.
These details weren’t just decorative, they were reflections of who they are.

A Cocktail Hour That Set the Tone
As cocktail hour began, guests gathered around the bar truck, enjoying signature drinks and curated bites in the warm late summer air.
Set against the open grounds of the bride’s parents’ private estate, the atmosphere felt vibrant and relaxed, guests mingling, drinks in hand, easing into the rhythm of the evening.
There was also a strong sense of personal style throughout; late summer textures, bold tones, and effortless tailoring that added movement and visual richness to the space. It’s often these unplanned elements that elevate a celebration, where fashion becomes part of the overall experience.

An Evening of Celebration and Meaningful Moments
The evening began with a lively and joy-filled entrance as the couple was welcomed into the reception at the bride’s parents’ private estate, setting the tone for everything that followed.
Shortly after, they gathered outside for a relaxed and playful cake cutting, accompanied by matching cupcakes that carried through the refined aesthetic of the day. It was a lighthearted moment that seamlessly transitioned the celebration into the evening.
As guests settled in, the atmosphere shifted into something more intimate and heartfelt with a series of moving speeches, each one filled with stories, laughter, and genuine emotion.
The night continued with the couple’s first dance, a moment that felt both romantic and effortless, followed by an emotional father-daughter dance and a heartfelt mother-son dance; each one adding another layer of meaning to an already unforgettable day.

A Sunset That Changed Everything
As the evening approached, the sky hinted at rain.
But instead of forcing the timeline, there was space to wait, and trust what the day might become.
When the clouds broke, the most incredible golden light appeared. We shifted quickly, stepping into the open field for portraits as the sky transformed around them.
It was the kind of moment you can’t plan for, only recognize when it happens.

Dancing Into the Night
As night fell, the celebration carried on under the glow of chandeliers and candlelight.
With incredible music and a full dance floor, the energy was effortless and alive, guests fully present, celebrating every moment of the day.
It was the perfect ending to a wedding that balanced emotion, intention, and experience so beautifully.
