After moving from Germany to Michigan in 2021, I never thought I would be able to experience a piece of the Netherlands right here in Michigan. But I was wrong! Springtime in Holland Michigan is absolutely magical for a Detroit wedding photographer. The tulip fields at Holland Windmill Garden, the quant Holland Downtown as well as the Nelis' Dutch Villiage are just some of the picturesque locations to photograph an engagement or portrait session.
It was such a wonderful experience to photograph the gorgeous Tarryn at the Holland Windmill Garden during the Tulip Time festival. I was so excited when Tarryn contacted me and proposed Holland in springtime for her portrait session. We planned the session for midweek so that there would not be too many visitors to the gardens. We were so lucky to get a beautiful sunny spring day! The lighting was perfect and the tulip fields were not too crowded. We had so much fun exploring the Windmill Gardens with its endless photo opportunities.
Tarryn is such a beautiful soul, she radiates joy! Her personality just shined through in this playful setting. She was a dream to photograph, such a natural! It is so amazing to connect with your clients and to be able to experience this special part of their lives with them. This is one of my favorite things about being a wedding photographer in Detroit, Michigan.
Tarryn looked breathtaking with her flowy white dress against the brightly colored tulip rows. You could feel the energy in the air and smell the sweet fragrance of the tulips. In the background, you could hear some traditional music playing which added to the Dutch atmosphere. If I closed my eyes it felt like I was in the Netherlands again!
