The beauty of Indian weddings is that they are never just one day; they are layered, meaningful celebrations that unfold over time, bringing together family, tradition, music, and joy. Vartika and Shrinesh’s wedding was a beautifully planned multi-day Indian wedding celebration in Plymouth, Michigan, beginning with a vibrant Sangeet and culminating in an elegant wedding day and reception at The Inn at St. John’s.

Thoughtfully planned by With Love Events, every part of the weekend felt intentional, calm, and deeply personal, allowing the couple and their families to truly enjoy each moment.

A Joyful Sangeet Celebration at Authentikka

The wedding weekend began with a lively Sangeet celebration at Authentikka in Canton, Michigan, where family and friends gathered for an evening filled with music, dancing, and incredible food. The space was beautifully styled with lanterns, rose petals, candlelight, and a thoughtfully designed stage that immediately set the tone for the night.

DJ AJ (Ajit Makhecha) guided the evening seamlessly, keeping the energy high while allowing each performance to shine. Vartika and Shrinesh made a joyful grand entrance, dancing their way onto the floor before welcoming their guests.

The night was filled with choreographed family dances, heartfelt performances, and spontaneous moments of laughter. Catering by Benstein Grille kept guests well-fed as the dance floor stayed full throughout the evening. The Sangeet felt relaxed, joyful, and full of connection, the perfect way to begin a meaningful wedding weekend.

A Meaningful Wedding Ceremony at The Inn at St. John’s

The wedding day began early at The Inn at St. John’s, where Vartika prepared alongside her family in one of the venue’s beautifully decorated rooms. These interior spaces provided the perfect backdrop for documenting quiet moments, from Vartika getting dressed in her traditional attire to the final touches of her jewelry and accessories.

Shrinesh's portraits were taken near one of the numerous fountains on the property, offering a pristine and sophisticated backdrop for his preparation photos. The various location choices enabled the couple to stay apart before the ceremony. The ceremony was held in the Provincial Ballroom, which was beautifully converted into a ceremonial space featuring a mandap created by Bellisario Florist. Every element, from the flowers to the ceremonial fire pit, embodied tradition, purpose, and elegance.

As guests were seated, soft instrumental music set a calm tone. The processional was deeply family-centered, with loved ones playing an essential role throughout. Vartika’s entrance with her father was especially moving, a moment filled with emotion and reverence.

Officiated by Shrinesh’s brother, Yulesh, the ceremony felt intimate and heartfelt, honoring tradition while remaining deeply personal.

Why The Inn at St. John’s Is Such a Beautiful Wedding Venue for Photography

One of the most special things about The Inn at St. John’s is how many photo opportunities it offers, all in one location. Throughout the day, we were able to move seamlessly between different spaces, creating a gallery that feels diverse, intentional, and visually rich without ever needing to leave the property.

The venue’s central courtyard is ideal for couple portraits and bridal party photos, offering soft light, elegant architecture, and a calm atmosphere. We used this space for bridal portraits and early couple photos, while other areas of the venue allowed us to thoughtfully separate the bride and groom before the ceremony.

Family portraits were taken in front of the mandap, which was absolutely stunning. Designed by Bellisario Florist, it provided a meaningful and visually striking backdrop that tied family photos directly to the ceremony itself.

Another highlight of The Inn at St. John’s is the variety of indoor spaces available. The beautifully decorated rooms made it easy to capture timeless getting-ready moments, while the fountains, walkways, and outdoor areas offered endless options for portraits throughout the day.

One of the greatest advantages for couples is that everything is truly in one place, getting ready, ceremony, lunch, reception, and portraits. There’s no need to travel between hotels or venues, which creates a much calmer, more relaxed experience for both couples and their guests.

Sunset Portraits & A Quiet Adventure Together

For sunset portraits, we went a little beyond the usual. Instead of staying close to the main venue, we hopped on a golf cart and headed out on a small adventure across the grounds to a nearby lake on the golf course.

The timing couldn’t have been more perfect. The sun was low, creating soft, golden, hazy backlighting that wrapped beautifully around Vartika and Shrinesh. The light reflected off the water and created portraits that felt romantic, cinematic, and timeless.

What made this moment especially meaningful were the quiet moments in between. As we drove there and back, the couple had a few stolen moments just to be the two of them, a chance to breathe, relax, laugh, and reconnect after such a full day. Those calm, in-between moments translated naturally into portraits filled with ease, intimacy, and genuine connection.

An Elegant Evening Reception

Following golden hour, guests returned for cocktail hour and the evening reception in the Mosaic Ballroom. Designed by With Love Events and styled with a mix of elegant candelabras and lush floral arrangements by Bellisario, the space felt refined, warm, and celebratory.

The grand entrance set the tone for the evening, followed by heartfelt dances and emotional speeches from parents, siblings, and friends. Dinner, Indian desserts, and a beautiful cake by Gwen’s Cake Decorating were enjoyed before the dance floor officially opened and stayed full well into the night.

It was the perfect conclusion to a weekend filled with tradition, joy, and intention.

Working With With Love Events

A huge part of what made this wedding weekend flow so seamlessly was the incredible planning by With Love Events, led by Keriann. She is, quite simply, one of the best wedding planners I’ve ever worked with.

Keriann is meticulous, incredibly well organized, and brings such a calm, friendly presence to every wedding day, even during complex, multi-day celebrations like this one. Everything is thoughtfully planned, perfectly timed, and executed with care, which allows couples and vendors alike to relax and enjoy the experience.

From a photography perspective, she is an absolute dream to work with. We work seamlessly as a team, communicating clearly and supporting one another throughout the day. Because of that, timelines flow naturally, moments are never rushed, and the couple’s experience always comes first.

It's not by chance that numerous weddings I've been part of over the years have been in partnership with Keriann and With Love Events. We form an excellent team, and I truly enjoy collaborating with her. Vartika and Shrinesh’s wedding weekend perfectly demonstrated what can be achieved when you have the right planner leading the celebration.
